The Paddock Pack

This is the bundle for running the place day to day. We draw a clean paddock map of the farm with you — names, areas, races, troughs and water — then print it twice: as a wipe-clean whiteboard for the wall, and as tear-off Maplands Pads for the desk and the ute. Plan on the board, hand out the sheet.

The pieces belong together because the plan doesn’t stay in the office. The whiteboard is where it gets made — rough out the grazing round, mark which mob is where, circle the blocks getting sprayed. The pad is how it leaves — tear off a sheet, scribble the job on it, hand it to the contractor or whoever’s covering the weekend. Because board and pads are the same map, what’s marked on the wall and what’s in someone’s pocket line up paddock for paddock.

Worth adding: the drone flight. If the aerial imagery of your place is years old — and the regional stuff usually is — we fly the farm first, draw everything off it exactly as it is now, and you keep the current imagery of the whole farm. If recent aerial work’s already been done, we build straight off that instead. Either way, when paddocks get split or a new race goes in, board and pads reprint from the same base — so the maps stay right, and stay matching.
